Sabra Szczepaniak is mother to three men who all became umpires. The Szczepaniak family grew up playing cards at home and playing baseball for Western Little League in Grand Rapids, MI, where Sabra served as a board member for 10 years and later her son Eric John would serve as umpire director for 5 years. Eric John taught his two brothers to umpire and has helped to train and employ more than 100 officials over the course of 13 years as an umpire and 10 years assigning umpires for local leagues and travel tournaments.
